RIDING WITH THE FAMILY – CYCLING HOLIDAYS AT AKI
Take your family on a leisurely e-bike ride across the Isarco valley or feel your heart fill with pride as you watch your little shredder pump away on spectacular mountain trails…
With a wealth of trails, downhill lines and cycle paths all at your fingertips, your family cycling holiday at AKI Family Resort PLOSE is set to fill your suitcase with wonderful memories.
You can plan your own rides or come along on the guided e-bike tours we organise specifically for families. Either way, you are welcome to borrow our mountain bikes and e-bikes for free, as well as child seats and trailers for your children.
MT PLOSE: PEDALLING UPHILL, DOWNHILL, AND UPSIDE-DOWN
The ingredients for a perfect family cycling holiday, according to AKI? Child-friendly trails, spectacular scenery and a balanced mix of safety and thrills.
The Plose outdoor area has it all.
If your child’s training wheels are still on, you will find easy but rewarding paths leading to charming viewpoints and welcoming Alpine huts.
For those with children old enough to handle a line, the Brixen Bikepark is an absolute must, with five lines and convenient lift service from the locality of Plancios. At 4.2 kilometres in length with a 300-metre drop, the wide Jerry Line is perfect for children and beginners, as it features a couple of steep turns for the right amount of thrills, but is otherwise unchallenging.
Speaking of thrills, Plose Looping is an experience you don’t want to miss. Head to the giant PLOSE lettering by the lift top station and you’ll discover that the O is actually a huge vertical loop for bold bikers looking to admire the Dolomites from a different perspective (minimum height requirement: 150 cm / 4 ft9 inches).

CYCLING IN AND AROUND BRESSANONE
At the less adventurous and more leisurely end of the wide spectrum of cycling opportunities offered by our area, there are Bressanone – a bike-friendly town packed with attractions – and the Isarco valley with its undemanding cycle path extending from Brenner southwards all the way to Bolzano, South Tyrol’s main town. The chocolate-box villages tucked away in the unspoilt mountains of the upper Isarco valley – such as Racines and Ridanna – are worth a ride, and you can use the excellent public transport network to get back from your tour if the little ones start getting sore calves.
