Aki listens to the girl, impressed. He would never have thought that it was possible to have so much fun in winter. But even though Maya’s stories are really interesting, Aki’s eyes are becoming heavier and heavier, and soon they just have to close.

After such an eventful day, the little eagle falls deeply and soundly asleep. But in his dreams, the adventures continue...

Aki sees himself sitting on a sled rushing down a hill. His scarf flaps wildly in the wind. Afterwards, he sits by the fire and toasts bread on a fork. There is a group of children nearby and he can hear loud laughter and the crackling of the fire.

Then suddenly Aki has strange snowshoes under his talons. He walks with them through the snowy woodland. With every step the snow crunches and the cold tickles his beak.

Later on, Aki sits in a chair as someone reads a story aloud. It’s so snug and cosy, and the woman who is reading the story even changes her voice as she reads. Now she’s turning the page and...

“Wake up, Aki! Wake up!”

“What was that? Where am I?” Sleepily, the eagle looks around him. Slowly he remembers yesterday and Maya, who is hopping around in front of him in excitement.

“Aki, you have to get up. You have to see it yourself, or you’ll never believe it.”

Reluctantly, Aki crawls out of bed. Maya runs to the window and looks at the eagle with big eyes. Then she counts backwards from three to one and opens the curtains.

Aki rubs his eyes. “What is that?” Quickly he comes closer and looks out of the window. It really is true, it’s snowing! Actually it is still too early for snow, but it seems to be the first harbinger of winter.

Maya quickly gets dressed and hurries outside with Aki. The little snowflakes dance from the skies and settle on the ground. On the buildings, the meadows, the trees - and yes, on Aki and Maya too!

The two friends dance through the snow and catch the tiny flakes on their tongues.

Suddenly Aki realises that he has made a decision. He is so happy here. He can't imagine that there is a better place in all the world.

With a solemn expression he turns to Maya and says, “I want to stay here forever. This is my new home.”

Now he just has to find somewhere for his nest. Perhaps in the Kids Club? Or the theatre? After all, he only needs space for himself. Somewhere to relax. And to dream. Of amazing adventures, hot chocolate and lots of new friends! Many of these dreams are sure to come true. But that’s another story. So stay tuned!
