A gourmet holiday for the whole family? Yes! At AKI, every wish is fulfilled.

 

Under the supervision of Markus Bacher and Hubert Ploner, our kitchen brigade is ready to conjure up the perfect flavours to delight the discerning palates of young and old, catering to every preference.

Hubert and Markus have been a successful team for years, and they are of one mind in all matters that count. “In line with ADLER’s commitment to sustainability, we at AKI Family Resort PLOSE make a point of choosing premium-quality produce from the local area, and keeping delivery routes as short as possible. We have already established a fixed subscription for the delivery of organic vegetables with a local farmer,” explains Hubert Ploner. “But it’s the same with other products and ingredients, such as milk and dairy products from the Eisacktal valley, free range eggs, organic honey, apples and more – we always prefer to buy from local suppliers that we know personally and trust. We are setting up the resort’s in-house garden, and soon we will be growing our own salads and herbs.”

 

Our cuisine is genuine, yet creative,” adds Markus Bacher. “It’s a combination of South Tyrolean specialities enhanced with fine oils and flavours, and light Mediterranean dishes for a varied gourmet experience. Add the right wine accompaniment – courtesy of the Eisacktal valley winemakers – and what you get is a foodie’s paradise.”

AKI’S CONCEPT FOR YOUNG GOURMANDS

Naturally, AKI’s primary focus is on children’s well-being and satisfaction. This includes the culinary experience we offer, which is designed to not only spoil their palates, but also to introduce them to the benefits of a balanced diet.

How do we achieve that? “Our desserts are made using natural sweeteners such as honey and maple syrup rather than sugar. And we choose fresh herbs and mild spices over salt. The secret to making vegetables more palatable for children is to work on presentation, for example by mashing them, making smoothies or arranging the various vegetables in colourful patterns on the plate.”

Sometimes we offer children the chance to experience first-hand how much fun it can be to make their own scrumptious snacks. For this, we have created the AKI cookery studio, where we chop, stir and experiment together, and taste the results of their culinary creativity. “We can’t wait to see their faces light up when they taste their first homemade creations!” And for added variety, we organise themed evenings and culinary highlights for the whole family, every week.

IT’S ALL INCLUDED

There’s more to a family’s gourmet holiday than delectable dishes – for it to be a perfect experience, it also needs the right setting and child-friendly facilities. At AKI, we have a dedicated children’s buffet area where they can easily help themselves. Highchairs, bibs, baby food jars and child-appropriate cutlery are available at all times, and so are colouring and play sets to keep the bubbly little gourmands entertained.

The AKI children’s bistro offers young guests the opportunity to dine and play with their playmates under the supervision of our carers, while children who prefer to eat in our restaurant with their parents can choose from an à-la-carte gourmet children’s menu. 

For babies, we are creating a dedicated station with a fine selection of fresh fruit, milk and mashes. It will be equipped with all the necessary utensils for food preparation. Additionally, our restaurant serves high-quality baby food.
