Our non-nudist family saunas are perfect for introducing children to the health benefits of this practice. “Swathed in steam and hay scent, and entertained by the Aufguss ritual (where vapour is produced and circulated by spinning a towel), the children will have the time of their lives. And the cooling-off – so important to boost the immune system – is just as exciting. It is designed as a pathway that first leads to a magical place where it snows all year round, then on to a bucket shower – a fun cooling experience, if a bit extreme. If you prefer a gentler option, there’s a colourful rain shower with light effects. After cooling off, all you need to do is head to the panoramic relaxation room and let your soul soar as you lie down with the whole family on a soft extra-large sofa.”

The AKI spa rolls out the red carpet for junior guests. “To us, wellness is a way of living. This is why we created new spa offers designed to impress on children the importance of taking care of themselves and their bodies, as well as to provide space for families to relax and indulge together. Our wide choice of treatments covers the various stages of development, ranging from the enveloping sweetness of parent-kids rituals to gentle baby massages and scented bubble baths that respect children’s delicate skin, making it even softer. Naturally, we also offer tailored spa treatments for teenagers. One such treatment is AKI Skincare, which includes a facial and an individual skincare consultation focusing on our ADLER cosmetic line. Soothing spa rituals and special packages for the whole family round off the offer.” 

THE PLAYFUL SIDE OF YOGA 

“Children tend to approach yoga playfully. They have a great time turning into butterflies, dogs, cats and snakes as they move from one pose to the next. In the process, however, they also learn how to relax through simple breathing and mindfulness exercises, aided by the sound of Tibetan singing bowls.” In the welcoming atmosphere of the yoga pavilion in the forest, yoga classes for adults are held on a daily basis, and yoga classes for children and expectant mothers are offered several times a week.

SPLASHING FUN FOR THE YOUNGER CHILDREN

To children, water is the most enthralling of all natural elements – something that can be sensed and touched, but is impossible to hold on to. No wonder they can play with and in it tirelessly for hours on end. We wanted to offer children a safe space where they can explore and have fun with this fascinating element to their hearts’ content. So, we built an indoor pool complete with an elephant-shaped slide, interactive water features, small waterfalls and a water sprinkler in the shape of our mascot, Aki the eaglet. 

A WATER PARK FULL OF HIGHLIGHTS

The centrepiece of our pool area is the three water slides, including a speed slide with timestop feature and light effects. Sliding down the adventure slide on a tyre is perhaps not as fast, but just as exciting, while the wave slide is wide enough for the whole family to have fun on it. The large indoor/outdoor pool with beach access and comfortable whirlpool loungers is perfect not just for relaxing and taking in the panoramic view, but for enjoying a sporty swim as well. Last but not least, we added a paddling pool, heated to a comfortable temperature of 34°C, where children can splash around or learn to move in water in complete safety.
