More than just a colourful playworld

Svety Krizova is in charge of the AKI Kids’ Club, and already scouting for new activities and programmes to make the stay really special for children and their families. A Czech native who has lived in South Tyrol for many years now, she has twenty years’ experience in baby care and children’s entertainment, making her best equipped for her new role at AKI. And she can’t wait to give our little guests a warm welcome.

From outdoor activities under the supervision of the AKI Kids’ Club team to expansive indoor play areas and creative opportunities, our new resort at the foot of Mt. Plose is a place for children to experience enjoyment of the natural, authentic kind – by running, jumping and climbing, but also by painting and woodcarving. Everyone can become a little explorer or artist here, where creative interaction and closeness to nature are constant companions, and playing and learning go hand in hand.

“We’ll be spending as much time as possible out in nature. For children in the digital era, it’s all the more important to live authentic real-world experiences – to smell the scent of musk, listen to the birds chirping, taste the flavour of wild strawberries, hopping from one tree trunk to the next. These are more than just occasions for fun and awe: they’re a way to stimulate their senses and contribute to growth and motor skills development. Being out in nature will allow children to learn many interesting facts about plants and animals, discover nature’s laws and patterns, and naturally develop an interest in the environment.”

It all starts outside in the woods and meadows around the resort, but continues inside…

"Inside AKI’s creative spaces, we will be making collages using paper, felt, wood and other natural materials gathered outside. We will also dye fabrics using colours made from flowers and fruit peels, and we’ll make honey from dandelion and fir needles, as well as scented bath salts using flowers from the surrounding fields. Doing creative things together not only makes for unforgettable memories, it also plants the seed for friendships that can last for a lifetime. And you don’t need to be a child – everyone is welcome to join in our workshops.”

But there’s even more to the AKI Kids’ World, which includes a small animal farm, adventure parks, a woodcarving workshop, a barn, a gym, a theatre, a teens’ lounge and much more.

The smaller children are in the best hands, cared for and cosseted by qualified staff in the AKI nursery. This area is provided with crawling equipment and carefully selected toys made from natural materials to ensure maximum safety.

There’s only one thing you will never find at AKI: plastic!
